FAQs

What age does my swimmer have to be to begin lessons?
Children can begin lessons at the age of 3 years old, ideally in a 1-1 lesson until we gauge your swimmer’s confidence and ability.

Where will I (parent/carer) be?
At our 15m private pool in Wideopen, seating is located on poolside, so parents can watch and hear lessons.
At Benfield pool, there is a spectator’s gallery to the shallow end, with a window so parents can see and swimmers can see their parents.

What should I bring with me to my swimming lesson?
To come prepared you should bring your swimming costume, goggles and towel. We have all toys and equipment needed for fun and productive swimming lessons all ready and waiting for you.

Where are the teachers during the swimming lesson?
For children and adults our teachers are in the water with you to support and help build confidence. For our advanced groups at Benfield the teacher is on the poolside to fully assess swimmers’ strokes and abilities.

How is my swimmer assessed?
Our swim school follows the Swim England stages 1 to 10, we continually assess swimmers to ensure they are always advancing. All children learn in different ways so don’t be deterred if your swimmer takes a little longer or shorter than their friend.
